Artificial intelligence for direct-to-physician reporting of ambulatory electrocardiography
Developments in ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG) technology have led to vast amounts of ECG data that currently need to be interpreted by human technicians. Here an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm for direct-to-physician reporting of ambulatory ECGs is tested.
Large Language Models Reason About Diverse Data like Humans Do
While early language models could only process text, contemporary large language models now perform highly diverse tasks on different types of data. For instance, LLMs can understand many languages, generate computer code, solve math problems, or answer questions about images and audio.

Study shows how exercise counteracts stress-induced high blood pressure
Chronic stress raises blood pressure. New research from Juntendo University, Japan, reveals that voluntary exercise prevents hypertension (high blood pressure) by restoring STAT3 levels in the amygdala. Using a rat model, the study found that stress lowered Stat3 expression, leading to increased blood pressure, while exercise reversed this effect. This discovery highlights a novel brain-based mechanism behind exercise’s cardiovascular benefits, opening doors for potential new therapies targeting stress-induced hypertension.
‘Junk’ RNA Segments Play Role in Protein Production, Cell Stress Response
Scientists have discovered that some tiny segments of RNA thought to be junk instead have a functional role in suppressing production of certain messenger RNAs and appear to help cells respond to oxidative stress.
